Chocolate Crinkles Recipe

Oven check and baking stuff check, now I'm ready to bake. But I'm still not sure what I want to bake. I want it to be grand, yummy & chocolate. Hmmm...then suddenly it came into my mind, Chocolate Crinkles! That's what I want to bake. So, I search the net for easy recipe and lol there was a lot. Then a familiar site came to my eye, Pansalang Pinoy. I'm familiar with this site because I was able to use one of his easy recipe once. And good thing his chocolate crinkle recipe is so easy. Now, all I need to do is buy the ingredients and its baking time!

Chocolate Crinkle Recipe by Panlasang Pinoy

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

4 pieces raw eggs

1 tbsp vanilla essence

4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted

2/3 cups unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup confectioners sugar

Cooking procedure:

1. Cream the butter in a mixing bowl using an electric mixer

2. Whisk the granulated sugar in and continue mixing for 2 minutes

3. Add the cocoa powder and melted chocolate then mix again for a minute

4. Put-in the eggs and vanilla essence then continue to mix until the texture becomes fluffy.

5. Add-in the flour, salt, and baking powder then mix again until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

6. Cover the mixing bowl with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 3 hours

7. Remove the cover and scoop the mixture using 1/2 tbsp measuring spoon

8. Roll the mixture using your palms until the shape becomes spherical

9. Roll the chocolate balls over confectioners sugar until fully covered

10. Arrange on a baking tray with wax paper (each ball should be 2-3 inches apart)

11. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the chocolate balls for 10 to 12 minutes

12. Remove from the oven and allow to cool down

13. Arrange in a serving platter then serve. Share and enjoy!

Having an oven makes me feel so alive and excited to venture into the world of baking again. I know, I still have that baking magic that I once had way back in my college days. Maybe a little practice and a lot of food tasting, which my office mate would surely love to do, can surely bring out the hidden pastry chef in me : )

Well, I can't start baking without having the basic baking utensils. So I bought some of it, just the important ones first because I don't have that big budget for it. I bought measuring cups & spoon, mixing bowls, weighing scale, pans and cookie trays.

Wish me luck...hope my first baking would come out perfect and delicious!

My First Convection Oven

I always wanted to have an oven at home but still couldn't afford one. So my love for baking was put on hold for quite sometime now. But this past few weeks, I was able to come across a forum, the Female Network, where they shared experiences and tips on having a mini convection oven at home. And each one of them gave out a good review for Imarflex 3in1 convection and rotisserie oven, they were able to bake and roast chicken. It made me curious so I searched the net for this oven and guess what, this oven was affordable and mini (tabletop). But I was still hesitant to buy this kind of oven because for one it runs on electricity and the baking space is small compared to the conventional gas oven.

Still torn between buying it or not, I continued to search the net for reviews of this oven. And far, most of the review are good in terms of durability, price worth and even on the electricity usage. Some even use it to start a small baking business.

Now this made me decide to get this oven, since I want to start a small cookie business.

Ola Friendships.

Last year was a great year for me, there was a lot of happenings and major changes in my life that made me feel so blessed and love by God. And until now blessings continue to pour in my life.

Blessings doesn't always means pouring of cash or no trials happening in in my life. I still experience hardship like running out of money and having so many loans, emotional set backs etc but with all this, I still manage to overcome it all step by step with God's help. And that's a blessing for me.

So early this year, I made a promise to God that if my settlement comes in I will donate something that is very much needed to Hospicio de San Jose Orphanage. I chose this orphanage because I had a wonderful experience with their special kids way back December 2007. Ceilo (aka Brownpinay) and me organized a party and love drive for the special kids of this orphanage, and it was a total success. During our visit there, I was able to go to one of the rooms were there kids in bed who cannot eat a regular food, it needs to be pureed and feed through tubes. And at that time, there was only one blender for at least 10 kids. This really made my heart sink that's why I made a promise to buy a blender for them. You can read our experience in Brownpinay's blog "Update: Excited About a Noble Cause".

I know it took sometime for me to fulfill my promise but still I was able to do it. And honestly, when I went there and gave my gifts for them, I felt so light and happy and there was peace within me. I know God already gave me my great gift in life last June 7, 2011 and with that I will always be grateful to Him and in my own little way, will return the blessing to others.

Bubbly Garage Sale

As the start of the year, I was already planning to have a garage sale but always postponed it. I guess because I was still clinging to the idea that someday (if ever) I could still fit in my old clothes hehehe. But reality check...It will never fit again and honestly, I kept these clothes for so many years already. So finally, after so many days or months of thinking I finally pushed through with my garage sale. I said to myself, Labubblychica you have a new life now time to throw out the old clutter and have a more new space.

I had my garage sale in my Auntie Bebeng’s house in Boni, it’s not that much but atleast I got throw out some stuff. All of the items are somewhat still new, others are worn once and some are really branded stuff. I gave out low prices for all the items so that everyone can buy.

Thank God for after the day, I was able to gain Php 1,700 from my garage sale. And honestly, it was an ok sale although some of the stuff wasn’t sold but yehey...I could still sell it on my next garage sale : )

I know everyone is still hype at watching the Miss Universe 2011 Pageant just a couple of hours ago. Why I know? Because I’m one of them, still amazed at their beauties and watched it through live stream here in our office though not the only one hehehe.

Yehey was heard here in our office, good thing our big boss is out of the office hehehe, when Shamcey made it to top five and gave out a good answer. Everyone including myself was so happy. Facebook, twitter, yahoo messenger and other media network are all filled with hopeful and support messages for Shamcey to win.

Then came the crowning time, we held our breath and waited who will be called to be the fourth runner up…it was Miss China. Yipppeeee….Miss Philippines still on the list…then came third runner…it was Miss Philippines…. Ooowwwwssss was heard in our office but still we are happy she’s not the last, then came 2^nd runner up Miss Brazil, then it was down to two finalist Miss Angola and Miss Ukraine.

The tension was really high who will be the Miss Universe, then first runner was called, it was Miss Ukraine.

Miss Universe 2011 is Miss Angola!!

I know that we’ve been waiting for a long time now for Philippines to get the crown again of Miss Universe. Nevertheless, I am always proud of all the candidates that represented Philippines in this pageant.

Shoe Fascination 2 - the sequel

It was a funny thing watching Sex in the City 2 movie again in HBO, it brings back memories of their wonderful shoes. I wrote a post before about my love for shoes and how I would buy one but never use it hehehe... Shoe Fascination.

Actually, I do have two shoes that are somewhat like the ones in the movie. I know those original shoes worn by the girls are way too expensive and it’s a dream for me to actually own a branded one like Christian Louboutin, Ferragamo, Kirkwood and the likes. But who knows maybe someday I might own one. Hmmm….I’ll keep dreaming.

I've got the pictures of their shoes and mine as well. Really really love their shoes....

This time I don't anymore buy shoes without thinking if I really need it. Time has changed and I have more important things to think of than shoes. But still my love for it didn't fade away....

2 Down in my “To Do List”

It’s the 4th month of the year 2011 and I’m blessed to have accomplished 2 things in my list which I planned for the year and imagine it’s just the 2nd quarter...yehey!!!

Ok, the first was my mini garden landscaping and the 2^nd thing I was able to do is bought myself a Cabinet. Finally after long years in my house I have a decent wardrobe cabinet and all my clothes are now neatly piled. Although some of them still don’t fit in but atleast they are all arranged now.

Before the all my clothes are either folded up even the dresses or inside a large suitcase. Imagine, I have to drag out all the clothes out of the suitcase just to find a dress and then put them back again...haaaayy

Now, I just open the cabinet doors and wahla...neatly clothes to my picking.

Hmmm..I know my list is still short but I planned to add more and hopefully to be able to accomplish it all.

Ola Friendships.

End of March is now approaching and everyone is excited because its gonna be the start of summer. I know each one of us is planning for a nice summer vacation but let’s not forget the students are much more excited than us working people. Why??? Because school will end and no more homework, lots of free time for fun and games.... But for some students March is a meaningful month because its gonna be their graduation, which means a start to a new stage of their life, like to my 3 nieces and 1 nephew who are all graduating this March.

First on the list to graduate is my nephew AK, grade school to high school. And we know that high school life is a bit challenging but we are confident enough that he’ll fit in just fine.

2^nd to graduate is my niece Picha, high school to college life. I always tell her to follow her heart on what course she wants to take up and I know she will perfectly do what is right.

3^rd to graduate is my other niece Apple, college ( BSED in PE) to working life. My family is very much confident that she’ll pass the teacher’s board and be the best PE teacher.

Last to graduate is my other niece Butchay, college (BS in Nursing) to working life. My family knows that Nursing board will just be a breeze to my niece and pass it. And honestly, she’s already a nurse to us.

As I see my pamangkins now and knows what they have achieved, it really makes me happy and proud to be their tita.

I’m really happy and thankful to God that at this early of the year, I’m blessed to accomplish one task. It’s the landscaping of my mini garden.

Atlast after all these years, I finally decided to have my garden fixed by a true landscaper. Although the cost is somewhat shocking to my pocket, but who cares I love my new garden and it’s worth the penny.

It’s a brand new year and I’m excited to start the year right. And 2010 was a blessed year for me because most of things I wrote in my “To Do list” journal were accomplished. I have so many things in mind that I also want to happen or do for this year and I hope I can all do it….

Just sharing….here some of the things I wanna do…..

Buy a Closet (Cabinet)
Landscape my mini garden
Go on vacation – much better to my hometown Zamboanga
Repaint Buddy – that’s my car
Buy an Oven – I love to bake

Hmmmm…for now this is all I could think off, but it might get to be a long list since it’s just the start of the year….

I’m really really looking forward for this year to be a great year….

Pochero la bubbly

Ola friendship.

I was really craving for beef pochero and wanted to cook one. So I searched the internet for the recipe and found this site http://www.ifood.tv/recipe/beef-pochero

I followed the recipe there but made a few changes. Like instead of garbanzos, I used bake beans to give a sweet taste and i did not put chorizo.

Hmmm..it turned out to be delicioso!

High School Reunion..Atlast

Ola Friendship...

Since graduating from high school, I was not able to attend reunions and lost contact with almost my entire batch. But thanks to Facebook, we were able to meet again, exchange happenings in our life and decided to have a get together here in Manila.

Finally, it happened our mini reunion was such a blast. Although not all of our batch who is already based here in Manila was able to attend, but still a handful was able to come.

It's nice to reconnect again with your high school classmates and recall memories of the things we’ve done, our teachers, crushes and other funny stuff. The night was filled with laughter and it was like I’m back in high school again.

We ended the night, promising to have another get together and to stay in touch always.

Clash of the Titans

Ola Friendship...

At last, I was able to watch the movie "Clash of the Titans" in the comfort of my home, since I missed it in theater I tried providing myself the comfort of a movie house but much more. I made a pitcher of ice tea and popcorn, propped the sofa with lots of pillows and my brother bought a bucket of KFC, he said its a back up food if ever we're not satisfied with the popcorn...hmmm a bright brother he is. When everything was set, we played the movie.

The story is about Greek gods, kingdom of Argos and Perseus. Perseus is the son of Zeus who lead a band of warrior to a mission to defeat Hades and his monster Kraken. The story started when the kingdom of Argos, defied Zeus which made him angry and being the ultimate god of olympus, he ask Hades to destroy the kingdom. Hades attacked the kingdom and killed the adopted family of Perseus, gives them a timeline to sacrifice the princess or he will release the monster Kraken and destroy their kingdom. Perseus agrees to help the kingdom with the reason to avenge the death of his family. During his quest in finding the way to defeat the Kraken, He found out that he is a demi-god which made him more willful to succeed in defeating Haedes and will not accept any help from his father Zeus.

Another twist in the story, Haedes has a hidden agenda that if he succeeded in destroying the kingdom, he will overpower Zeus and become the ultimate god. Unfortunately for Haedes, Perseus succeeded in defeating the Kraken and informed Zeus of his plan. Zeus ordered Haedes back to the underworld and never to return to olympus. While Perseus lived a peaceful life with his lady guardian.

The movie was good but with a slight difference from the original Clash of the Titans released last 1981. Since I was able to watch the two movies, I was able to compare them.

The two movie differs in Perseus quest and his love interest. In the old one, Perseus has no adopted family,his quest is centered in saving the princess and marrying her. While in the new movie, he was adopted by a family which was killed by Hades, his quest was to avenge their death and his love interest is with his lady guardian.

Overall, the movie is simple and good. The visual effects are ok and superbly executed. The story is like the old one simple and not complicated.

A good movie to watch!

Next Adventure.. Naga, Bicol

Ola Friendship.

This is a continuation of our Caramoan adventure, since our day three was heading back to Naga. We have the whole afternoon to explore Naga, Bicol, since our flight back to Manila is scheduled the next day.

Upon arriving to Naga, our hired Van brought us to CWC Camsur WaterSports Complex. We have an overnight reservation at their Tiki hut. It was literally a Hut with a double bed and a native design, without a bathroom. But the common bathroom is really clean and big, so you won’t experience lining up. Since it was already lunchtime and all of us are hungry, we took our lunch at their open resto and tried the bicol dishes. The food was superb and really satisfied our hunger.

After lunch, we decided to explore the town and try the wakeboarding later in the afternoon. The nice thing in CWC is they have a shuttle service going to the town proper, the drop off and pick up point is SM Naga.

We went to the famous Peñafrancia Church and lighted a candle. Then off to the market to buy dried fish and other pasalubong. Done with the buying, we went back to SM Naga and tried the famous Bigg Diners, famous for their burger and yup it was delicioso.

We were all excited to go back to CWC and were prepared to try the wakeboarding. When we arrived we saw that the machine pulling the person malfunctioned and was being repaired. Sad to say, we were not able to try it huhuhu… So we decided to just play around in their swimming pool and sleep early since we have an early flight back to Manila.

Naga City is a nice place and we need to go back to explore more…. Hmmm plan for another adventure!

Caramoan Adventure

Ola Friendships...

Its was another adventure trip for labbubblychica and this time we went to Caramoan, Camarines Sur. It was an adventure as we went island hopping, swimming and even went on a hike. What made this trip special is, I'm with the same gang who went hiking to Mt. Pinatubo. It was a four day trip for us and very thankful to Jojo who organized this trip from the start.

Day One of our wonderful trip......

we had an early morning flight to Naga and when we arrived, a shuttle van was already waiting to take us to Barangay Sabang, its a jump off point were you need to ride a boat for more than an hour to Caramoan. And guess what, the boat was far from the shore and if you walk towards the boat, you'll surely get wet since the water is above your stomach. So imagine our surprise when a crowd went to us and offered to carry each one of us in their shoulder. We were laughing the whole carrying process because some of the men are somewhat small built and some of us, including me, is in somewhat big built hehehe

We arrived in Caramoan lunchtime and since we are already hungry, we took first our lunch in one of the carinderia then proceeded to BC Hometel, we're we are booked. The hotel, hmmm more like an inn, is a nice and clean place. The caretaker is also accommodating and helpful
in giving us tips.

After changing into our island hopping outfit, we immediately went to our hired boat and started our island adventure. Wow... the islands is so beautiful, the sand are so white and fine, the water are so clear. We get to visit 2 islands. Before going back to our hotel, we bought seafood's in the dock area and let the caretaker cook it for our dinner. Nighttime is serene one since their no nightlife party and we were ok with it, since we are already tired from the adventure.

Day Two....

We started out early since we have at least 5 more islands to visit and brought a pack lunch for us to munch on the beach. Every island we visit has a divine beauty of its own and we didn’t miss out on exploring it. The last activity we had for the day was a trek to Mt. Caglago with a view of the different island and on top is the giant statue of Mama Mary. And really, it was a long tiring trek going to the top, with I think almost 500 steps. But once your there, it was worth it. The view is really breathtaking and wow is all I can say. Being our last night, we ate at resto and explore the town, hunting to buy some local stuff. Me, I just bought a souvenir shirt.

Day Three

This was our last day in town and we are scheduled to go back to Naga before lunchtime. So our group just took souvenir picture of the town and visited the St. Michael church. On our way back by boat again, we were able to see Mt. Mayon is a distant.

Caramoan adventure was a great one, it was an eye opener for me to experience how beautiful Philippines is and a more reason why I need to explore my own native land first.

Learning Card Games

Last weekend, all I did was just watch movies and sleep. It was truly a relaxing weekend. One movie that really caught my interest is entitled “21”. The story revolves around a casino and how good the players can manipulate the cards. I really got fascinated and since I’m not really a card player, I searched the internet for some easy online game.

Good thing, there is a poker game in Facebook. And you can play online with your friends or just join a group. Funny thing is no matter how I try to play, I just get confused on the betting style.

Well, there goes my interest in card game...I think I'll play farmville instead : )

“Filipino Diaspora” hmmm…..what’s that????

A question that pops in my mind when Cielo aka “Brown Pinay” approached me in my desk, and started to talk about it……

As what she explained, “Filipino Diaspora” means Filipino’s who uproots her/his family in the Philippines in favor of living/migrating in another place. So that’s what they call it now…..hmmmm….. She even mentions that other countries are conducting a study on the reason of the increasing number of “Filipino Diaspora”. Some of my officemates joined in our conversation and started to give out their own reason on this “huge phenomena” happening in our own native land….

The number 1 reason we all agreed on why this is happening is due to the economic crisis…price increase on food, electricity bill, gasoline, tuition fee and etc…. and oh……I almost forgot…the increasing rate of corruption……..( bato-bato sa langit…ang matamaan …mabukulan sana ng todo…)

Come on……. this is really what is happening everyday…and even if we want to think positive…we are still crushed by the hardship we are facing …

I, myself, is contemplating on going abroad too….syempre to earn more and provide a good life to my family. I have a brother, 1 sister and aunties all living in abroad now and as what they are saying…..”Life in abroad is not easy….but sacrifice need to be made coz we see no future in Philippines”

Well…we can’t blame our kababayans if they want to migrate or go abroad, coz they know this is one way of providing a good life to their family.

Yup..its true at my young age, I'm now a doting grandma to my new 2 puppies ☺

My Coco, the one in my blog background gave birth last December 31, 2009. Imagine, New Years eve, I was stressed helping my coco to give birth and there was no vet available that time. It should have been 10 puppies, but eight died. The Vet told me that it was due to complications. It was Coco's first pregnancy. I was really sad that time because I lost so many beautiful puppies.

So, I said to myself I will take good care of the new puppies. By the way, the black one is named Boomer and Sheeva is the white one.

Right now, I'm giving them Eukanuba large breed for puppies mixed with Kanil for their food. I wanted it to be Science Diet meal but the price is really out of my budget, as in, imagine almost Php 500 for only 2 kilos. But Science Diet is really a great meal for dog, my Coco was fed with this for her first year and she didn't have any sickness till now.

So, I'm planning to atleast buy Science Diet twice a month and mixed it with Eukanuba, to fully enhance their immune system and built.

Right now, my puppies is already 4 months old, very active and destructive at the same time. Because they already like to chew things even slippers, so the vet advised me to buy lots of toys for them to play with. And honestly, it works. They don't anymore chew my slippers ☺

For those who have new puppies, always ask your vet for the right kind of food and vitamins for them. And have them properly vaccinated.

Hi friendships...

Its been a while since my last post...like almost a year now.

I guess I got caught up assessing, arranging & finally fixing things in my life...Don't worry, now I'm back and finally eager to write many stuff in this blog...

Family Time

Ola Friendshipssss....

This is another part of my 3 month slumbering.... After my Mt. Pinatubo Trekking, my family had their vacation here in Manila. Not all was able to come, it was just my Dad, my brother-inlaw, a cousin & 2 nephews......

In their more than a month stay here, it was really an enjoyable time..... I was really happy that I was able to spend quality time with them...since I don't often go home to Zamboanga City.

We were able to visit my mom's family in Dau, Pampanga and spent Holy week their. It was an experience for my 2 nephews since it was their first to see the "pinetensya"

We also had a family outing which was super great since both sides...dad & mom's was there.

I took my family to Star City and get to experience the ice adventure......and some rides.

For their stay here...we were able to bond and made me realize how I really miss my family...

Thank God for a wonderful time.......

I was able to read in a magazine about a story of a Vietnamese boy who is a victim of a landmine. He lost one of his leg and because of the help of the UN group, the boy was given an artificial leg made of alloy steel. It may never be like his own leg but still he was alive, able to walk and do some normal things.

Its really amazing how medical science was able to make use of alloy steel in implanting artificial limbs to people. They use this material because its light weight and will not rust. But this is not only the use of these materials. Alloy Steel is also use in Aero Space, Industrial and Commercial Buildings. And there are already companies that manufacture and cater to the needs like in medical or industrial groups.

Just imagine, with this kind of steel, it helps a lot of people make their lives easy. Good thing someone was able to invent or found out about this amazing steel.

This is part of my 3 months slumbering story..... After my eye surgery and healing stage....my office friendshipsss planned a trekking at Mount Pinatubo in Capas, Tarlac.

Good thing, Ace Lupiba (planner & pusher of the group ) organized everything from booking to payment. He contacted the Discover Asia International Travel & tours located at Citiland, Pioneer. He got us a day tour package amounting to Php 1,800 only (included van transpo to & from Tarlac, 4x4 jeep ride, and a guide.

Here is our trip..........

*3:00am - left Manila (meeting place was side of Hotel Intercon, Makati)

*arrived at Capas around 5:30am - Stop point for Registration and start of 4x4 ride

* Our 4x4 jeep ride experience

* quick stop for a picture taking

* start of our hike after almost 1 hour of a bumpy ride

* a rocky hike....be sure to wear a durable hiking sandal

* nearing the crater

* a magnificent view!

* an experience worth telling

*going down to the lake

* the water is a bit cold

Since its just a day tour, after we took our lunch we decided to hike back to were our 4x4 jeep is waiting...meaning we are going to pass by the rocky track again.....but this time, its going to be a bit easy...i hope so : )

We arrived in Manila almost 6pm, a bit tired and sleepy but its really worth it!

Ola Friendshipsss....

This week was really packed with experiences that I could never forget....and its only Friday!!!

Rewind all the happenings............

Monday, was the D day that got me so nerve tingling.....why??? First, I recieved a call from an unexpected someone that I don't wanna talk to....will not elaborate it coz it's not worth it.

And second, this is the day of my eye surgery. Although its just a minor case but still its a surgery.....goosshhh...I'm really nervous!!! Good thing Doc Mike Muñoz, my eye doctor, has a very funny and caring side, so you'll feel comfortable and safe with the procedure...In short, he's an A ok doctor.....

Wondering what happened to my eye........something round became visible and at first I didn't notice it, unless I close my left eye. The findingss....its an Internal Hordeolum, its like a pimple but its inside your eyelid. And for two weeks of medication, it was still there and somewhat becoming bigger. So Doc Mike & I, decided to go with the surgery.....and the best part...its free I won't spend anything coz my company will take care of the billssss......yippiiii...

On the day of my surgery in Medical City Hospital - Ortigas, Mean (Doc Mike's Assistant) was very kind to assist me in the OR. And what will LabubblyChica do while waiting.....picture taking heheheheeh.............The surgery went smooth & well, it took only about 15-20 mins....and its done. It was just an Out-patient procedure so I was discharged on the same day.

Wow....I can't believe that I won a shirt from Coke sponsored by Bench!!!

At first I was hesitant to change the sprite cap that has a very small caption of "free t-shirt"...because for one there was no written word bench and I thought it was just an ordinary shirt.

But still, I went to Bench - Megamall Branch to check it out. When I gave the cap to the personnel, they immediately directed me to a table were 3 set of different design was layed.....and since I love colors...I choose the red shirt....

Journey Concert..present again

Ola Friendships........

Well....its another concert for La Bubbly Chica...this time I was able attend the "Journey" concert last March 14, 2009 at SM MOA...Ofcourse thanks again to my bestfriends Ben & Kath.

The concert was ok...although honestly, I don't know their songs. The only song that I could sing along with them is "Open Arms" hehheehe...maybe because this band was not in my era.....But Ariel Pineda was really a great singer, and they said he really sound like the original lead signer.

I wasn't able to take a lot of pictures coz my camera got broken..I think its the optical lens or something......haaaayyyy...sayang....

But still I enjoyed the concert and I got to see Gary Valenciano there hehehee.

Eraserheads Concert Part 2.....Been there!

I'm really super duper happy I was able to attend the Eraserheads Concert Part 2, last March 7,2009 at SM Mall of Asia. It was really a great concert and soooo many people attended the concert.

I wouldn't be there if it was not through my bestfriend Kath & Ben, they gave me again a free VIP Pass.....would you believe it.......I'm really super lucky to have them as my super friends....more like a family to me. And the best part, this time, Jean our other super friend was able to attend...Yipppeeee... all three of us present......a very good bonding time together.

The concert was really great they sang some of their famous songs. Ofcourse, me singing my heart out joining the others hehehehe...and not to mention me shouting "I love you Ely" as if he could hear me hehehehe

Gosh...I really had the time of my life because of that concert. And the best part, they gave a tribute song to a very good man Francis "Kiko" Magalona, who was supposed to join in their concert.

After the third set, we thought that it was already finished but unexpected thing happened...they gave the audience another 3 songs.....more like a bonus to us..... I love this band!!!!!

Family Bonding

Ola Friendshipssss.....

I know I haven't posted for a week now.....got a bit of brain drain, I really don't know why...But I guess it happens. Good thing is, I got a refreshing time with my family and it help me to get back on my writing stint in my blog.......Thank GOD for families.

Speaking of Families, last night was blast for us. I was able to spend a happy and bonding time with my aunts, uncles, & cousins..... Thanks to my fabulous cousin Chicklet aka "Chickygirl", a nurse working in Saudi, here to spend her vacation (don't worry...you'll have a great one), and who treated us all to a delicious dinner at Marina, Roxas Blvd. After dinner, we went to Harbor Bay, beside PICC. The place was great for gimiks, hanging out or even for walking and a lot of dining places...hmm...I'll go back there to check it out more.....

While there, we had coffee & tea at Mocha Blends and "kwentuhan blues". Oohh, we also got to see Pokwang and was gracious enough to have a picture taking with us.

Bonding moments with family really makes me see how lucky I am to have them....even small things or simple time creates a happy memory and brings laughter to our life. I hope and pray that even if we're already old, we could still share stories and continue to bond, passing our closeness to our children.... I know this will truly happen.....coz we are the Centi clan!

To Chickygirl........thank you for sharing your blessing.....and we still have lots of "kwentos" to share..... Love you cozin!

Lugawan Republic.....Charap!

Well it's another food trip for Labubbychica....and this time I tried the Pinoy's all time favorite Lugaw.

With my friendship Agnes in tow....we went to Lugawan Republic in Metro Walk, Ortigas. It's my first there but definitely not my first to eat lugaw hehehe.....

So here is my review....

Food Presentation

I give them average, its a simple presentation with no elaborate decorations

Taste
The lugaw is very yummy compared to the others that I have tasted. And the Tokwa't baboy is also yummy, very crispy. Their water have a very interesting taste.........hmmm....its pandan water....very refreshing.

Price

Very affordable. Imagine, their basic lugaw with egg is only Php 60 and tokwa't baboy is less than Php 100. We only paid around Php 200+ for two person.

Ambience

The place is ok and clean. They have enough tables to cope with big groups of 10 or more.

Service

Well....their ok. They will immediately approach you when you need something, accommodating.

Restroom

Sori to say but I wasn't able to check their restroom so I really don't know if they have one...if i go back there, I will surely check it out.

Parking

Metro Walk have a wide parking area so you need not worry a thing, and the best part is....its a free parking.

I will surely go back there to try more of their foooddddssss....See you there!

Ola friendshippsss.......

Well..yesterday was supposedly my A day...although officially it still is, but circumstantial facts...its not anymore....I know you don't get what I'm talking about but soon you'll know...

Since yesterday was my "A day", I thought it was going to be a sad day...but as it turned out...it was completely the opposite....I was soooo bubbly the whole day and even went to SM Megamall to do errands for the office and had lunch with the LSG troops. And the best part of the day, Sunlight fulfilled one promise and sent 2 pictures in Bohol.....I'm already excited to go there.

And to finish my day, since its my "A day", i decided to buy my self a gift...ofcourse charge to my supplementary card......and what best gift to buy....of course my favorite...shoes!

So off to Megamall to look for shoes....I been to a lot of shop but I couldn't find a particular design that mesmerized my shoediva eyes.....Then suddenly..when I was beginning to lose hope....I found it (medyo melodramatic diva..hehehehe). Good thing I went to Prima Donna shop...they have a lot of different styles and on sale. And they have my size.... 10 hehehe.

So to truly end my day with a big smile, I bought 2 shoes! Thanks to Neozep, without my supplementary card....I couldn't buy my shoesssss........

Lovapalooza.......Valentines Day

Ola Friendships.....

Valentines Day was a great day for me...I was able to greet my mom since its her birthday, I got to hung-out with my bestfriend Kath and lastly I was able to get upclose with the bands playing in the Close-up Lovapalooza event at SM Mall of Asia. All this happened in one day.......

And honestly it was really fun. I thought my Valentine day would be somewhat gloomy since I don't have a date. But instead it was the best Valentine I ever had.......

It's a different case with my bestfriend Kath, to her this day is a bit bad. Her husband is on duty, she broke her eyeglasses so she can't clearly see the band even if we're already infront of the stage. And lastly, her cellphone was snatch, we don't know how.......maybe it was somewhere when we're buying some food. But the best part, the snatcher was caught...kudos to the Policemen.....

Ola Friendshipss.........

Its going to be another Valentines Day on Saturday....and also the birthday of my mother...for sure their going to celebrate it with lots of homecooked food...I miss home.....but its ok...even if I'm not there and don't have a date on that day...I will definitely spend it with my bestfriend Kath coz she asked me to go with her in SM MOA since her husband can't be with her (he's going to head the security during the Close-up Lovapalooza 2009) & hopefully Jean & Dinx, who for sure will be joining the kissinbg thing...hehehe

Close-up Lovapalooza is considered a tradition for quite sometime now and we even got the guiness record for the most number of couples kissing at the same time.

So for those couples who would like to take part...be at the SM Mall of Asia on February 14, 2009, 6pm and bring close-up cartoons for passes. There will be lots of surprise guest like Spongecola, Pupil & other groups.....

A taste of Korean Cuisine

Well....its quite sometime since my last post.....got so busy with work...but still it won't keep me from writing happenings in my life.....so here's one of them....

Last Friday, my officemates planned and decided to eat at a Korean resto and since I never tried it, I eagerly joined their group.

We went to the Escriva St., Ortigas (coming from Pasig to Shaw, Red Ribbon turn right). And I was surprised that there were a lot of Korean resto there. Since my officemate was able to try one resto beside the Astoria Plaza, we decided to eat in the opposite of that resto.

Since it my first of Korean food....here is what I can say....

Food Presentation
Hmmm......I give them average....They don't elaborately decorate the food what you see in the picture is what you get....

Taste
I can't really compare coz its my first taste but for me..its yummy and some of the food is spicy. The side salads are also yummy especially the Kimchi and sweet radish. We ordered Bibimbop (rice with different vegetables), Spicy Bulgogy (spicy pork) & Ddookboki (spicy rice cake).

Price
Hmm......for five paying persons, we paid Php 210 each for the food. They say its already ok compared to other Korean resto.

Ambiance
The place is quite small with few tables but the nice part is the open kitchen, were you can see them cook your food. They also have pictures of their menu for those not familiar with the cuisine , like me heheheh

Service
I give them very good....coz they really explain well whats in their menu and will guide you through your ordering. The staff are very well groomed with hairnets & aprons.

Restrooms
Sori...but they don't have one in the resto....but I think they have a public CR in the building.

Parking
This is quite a problem because of limited space.... but you can go to the pay parking's near the area and just walk to the resto.

I really enjoyed the food...and I will surely come back and try the other foodssss......

By now, everyone is buzzing about a new diet craze called "Morning Banana Diet". Even I became curious on how this works.

This year I made a commitment to my self to really lose the excess weight so as to stay healthy and feel good. I've tried different ways on doing it but to no avail, it didn't work out. Maybe because I lack discipline and I love to eat.

So when I searched and read this new diet in the internet, I became interested. Maybe this is a good way for me to lose weight.

So here is some facts about this Morning Banana Diet

1. This diet started in Japan

2. The main star of this diet is banana

3. Banana is eaten every morning as your breakfast, allowing you to eat more than one

4. The goal of this is to discourage you from overeating, letting you feel full.

Ola Friendshippppssss.....

Yesterday was back to work day....and boooyyyy I was soooo lazy to get moving...I think I still have a holiday hangover....But what can we do...its work..work...work or no pay.....

To start off Monday...I was greeted by a heavy traffic in coastal road. Imagine from start of it until toll fee booths it was really traffic and ohh the fee was already increased from Php 18 to Php 22......But when I reached EDSA it was really a smooth flow, not much traffic at all.

While on the way to office, I received a txt from Auntie Pinky asking to call her immediately. I was already thinking that its an emergency case...

In the office....ofcourse...I exchanged chikas first with my officefriendshipssssss......then I called up Aunt

And guess what....she just dropped the biggest bomb news about Ilong Ranger.....and honestly I was really fuming afterwards...........

I told my self this has to stop and no one but me can do it........

After the call....I started to think and gather information that will truly help me.....and with God's help...everything that I need surfaced......

I began to think and ask....why is this happening..just before end of 2008...an unexpected someone txted me and is asking for forgiveness....then just the start of new year.......I received a sad, fuming news........haaahhhh...

But I know.......I'm strong and maybe this is already a wake up call for me.....to see that its not worth it....

I know friendshipssss that your already curious on what I'm talking about.... In time I will reveal you all the happenings of my life.........and I know my family & friendshippssss will support me...

January 1 was spent with my family and it was a great day for us.

I know this will be a great year for everyone……and things will happen for a better life.

As I look back to 2008, I made a list of the things that I want to accomplish for that year and I know some of it happened and some I wasn’t able to accomplish. Its ok
I know that not all will come true in one year…… little by little with God’s help it will all be accomplished….

So this 2009….I made another list but this time it focuses on the list that answers to the question that I ask my self “What Do I want?”

For more than two years…I’ve been facing the challenges in my life bravely, accepting the reality of life but not whole heartedly. But this time it will be different…. I want to accomplish things not because I want or need to, but because it will make me happy

I know this year will be a good and prosperous new year for me……And with God’s help…..it will be!

Dec 31…..Last day of 2008

This is a bit busy day…..since it’s the last of 2008, I’m already finalizing all the things that need to be done for this day. Agnes & Mike will be celebrating the New Year in my house and we’re already preparing the food for our media noche later. It’s a good thing that they’re with me, at least I won’t be alone tonight.

Two hours before 12 midnight…..the food is already set. We’re having cocktail drinks and watching the telecast of the new year celebration. Me & Agnes were able to talk about the things that happened for 2008 and the plans that we have for coming year.

Come to think of it…..2008 was a really good year for me. Things happened that made me happy, strong and fulfilled in many ways. And I thank God for all His blessings…..

It’s already 11:59pm……..in one minute…its already 2009…….And I’m excited to face it…I know it will be a great year…..than last year and I know God will have more blessing for me……

Well…..one day to go and its 2009!!!!

And boooyyyy….its one hectic week for me.

To start off…Dec 24 was a busy day. We still have work but were dismissed early. So me and my brother went to my 2 aunts to give our gifts then he had to go to work So I celebrated my Noche Buena in my rented pad at Boni together with my roommate Agnes. It was an ok and fun Noche Buena…. I also received lots of txt Christmas greetings from all my friendshipssss….. Thanks guys for the greetingsss…..

Dec 25…Christmas Day!!!!! Merry Christmas!!!!

I was awaken by a txt greeting from Ilong Ranger…it was just a simple greeting…and I was thinking of not replying….as in ‘deadmahin nalang’ but since its Christmas….I replied …with a bit of sarcasm hehehee…..And because of that text, I couldn’t go back to sleep…..so I fix my things and went to fetch my brother from his office. We’re going to spend the day in Cavite….. Christmas went out smoothly….I just prepared spaghetti and chicken as our Christmas meal…but since my brother was on night shift….he just slept the whole day..so we didn’t get to open the presents……..its more fun if we both open it.

Dec 26…….Opening of our gifts…….yipppeeee….My brother gave me a converse snicker…..and its pink…..I really love it…Me, I gave him a silver necklace….we just stayed home and watch movies…..

Dec 27, 28 & 29………these days was really super busy….I was doing a general cleaning of my whole house…throwing everything that I think is a clutter. Bought everything that I need for my New Year meal and of course, change my old curtains to a new polka dot design…..which I just sew my self…..

Now I’m ready to face a new, bright and prosperous new year…….

Happenings for the Past Weeks

Ola Friendships……….

Gosh…I miss writing in my blog……its been quite sometime now since my last post and I know some of you guys are already wondering what is going on with me…….Well…the reason of my hiatus stage is I don’t have an internet access and I got quite busy in my little business…Sorry guys……but this time…no more quiet days……I can already access my blog in the office…yipppeeee……

Well……lot of things happened when December came into calendar and boooyyy…..its really a busy, fun and surprising month for me…..and still its not yet end of the month…..

Ok…ok….here are the happenings………….

First week of December was ok……I was able to put up my Christmas tree and some decoration in my house, with the help of my brother of course. Then our 13th month pay was also given, sad to say…I can’t spend it on the things that I want to buy coz its already intended as payment to my Tita………haaayyyy…….how money flies…..but its ok atleast my “utang” is lessen……Weekend…I painted my house, I wanted it to have a fresh look since my gate is newly painted…why not my house…just to complete the new thing………hehehe.

Second Week was truly great……our company party was held last December 10. It was an ok party, but what made it really great was the announcement of our bonus…….yipppeeeee…….after that everyone was already dancing…..including me of course heheheeh…..

Then another unexpected thing happened….someone I didn’t expect texted me and is asking for forgiveness…..gosh…imagine the nerve…now I know karma really works…but this is another story…… to be posted soonnnn……

The next day, I was on leave. I just accompanied my bestfriend to divisoria. And gosh….so many people…..!!!! I was able to buy “tela” for curtain and dining table…I wanted to have a festive theme in my house….since I can’t go home to Zamboanga. Now my home project is complete….new paint for my gate and house, and a new curtain. Really looking forward to a New Year…..

Third week was quite busy because of our ISO audit. So many rush documents to finish and edit just to comply with the standards. But at the end of it…..we passed and still continued to be certified. .

December 19 was our Group Christmas party. Each group had their own color and presentation. Its was really a great party. There were lot of foods, games, and raffle prizes….I won a pasta cooker…yipppeeee….

Whats really great during our party is the video presentation of our 8 years experience as a Vitro team. It really showed our team as one group and the great bonding we have….Haaaayyyy time flies…imagine I’m already 8 years in this group……and every minute with them is truly treasured…….

My First Foreign Experience

Ola Friendships……..

I know this is a bit late to post my experience but still I wanna share my moment of foreign experience….and besides…I just got hold of the pictures hehehee…. The Foreign Experience that I’m talking about is not what you think it is hmmmm…….thinking..thinking ha…..

Well….its no other than the Concert of Rihanna & Chris Brown last November 16, Fort Bonifacio Global, Taguig. It was my first ever live concert and honestly I was really super excited and happy. Imagine…..attending a concert and its free….courtesy of my goody bestfriend Ben & Kath.

On the day of the concert, Kath & I was all really excited, we were hoping to see artista there and be seen in TV hehehe….but as we found out we were in a different section and the artista were at the Platinum area (the very costly ticket), we’re just in the gold section only…….but its still ok atleast its free….

It was a jam pack concert even outside there are still a lot of people hoping to get in. And once inside the area, you need to squeeze your way just to get infront, but we’re still far from the stage. Good thing there are a lot of Wide screen scattered in the area. And if you get hungry or thirsty there are Mcdo booths in every section.

Chris Brown was the first to perform. It was really an up beat moment, singing his best songs and people were dancing. After his set……..there was a fireworks……

Then……after the break….lights off…….then suddenly Rihanna came out on stage…. She was wearing a skimpy outfit……leather tight bustier and in tanga…..wow…she really looked sexy and hot in her outfit……Wish I could wear the same thing….hmmmm…wishful dreaming…hehehehe

She sang her famous songs and some are not that familiar with me…….The only thing that I truly know the lyrics of her song is “Umbrella”. But it was really a good concert. They wrapped up the concert with the final song of “Umbrella” which Rihanna & Chris sang together.

After the concert, we’re still hoping to catch a glimpse of any artista……but sad to say….it didn’t happen…..oh well…maybe next time…… By the way……..the going home part was really terrible…..every street was cramped with cars wanting to be first on the road……and it caused huge traffic….We were able to get out of the jam 45 mins later. Gosh…so this is the aftermath of the concert……Next time….I won’t bring my car anymore…….Hope there is still a next time………

I was so happy when my goody bestfriend Jean invited me for a late night dessert. She together with her hubby Dinx & niece Icka, picked me up at my aunt’s house in Boni. I was so excited when they told me that we’re going to The Nestle Creamery at Aurora Blvd., Cubao, because it’s my first time there and I heard so much good reviews about this place.

Since it’s my first there, I should let you know what my evaluation of the place is.

So here it is……..

Food Presentation
Hmmm….since we already had our dinner, we just ordered a dessert. We Choose the Ice cream cake called Eskimo. It looks so enticing and yummy.

Taste
I give them very satisfied rating. Since it’s made of chocolate ice cream with crushed oreo cookies…it’s really very yummy!!!

Price
I give them average rating. It’s not that expensive or cheap but moderate price. It’s much better if you get a whole cake than per piece. The cost of a whole cake is just Php 700+ with 10 slices. While the per piece is around Php 90+.

Ambience
I give them Very Satisfied rating. I love their place. Its cozy, family feel and enticing especially by looking at the ice cream pictures in the walls. They also have a playground inside for the children.

Service
I give them the average rating. Their stuff is ok and accommodating.

Restrooms
I give them the Very Satisfied rating. They have a separate CR for men & women. And as what I have seen in the women cr, it’s very clean and smells good.

Parking
I give them Satisfied rating. They have an ample parking beside the resto.

We really enjoyed our yummy dessert….and next time that I will go back I will surely order more and not just dessert…..

My Nephew's Request

I’m already excited because Christmas is already near, just 1 month more to go. And as early as now, I’m already thinking of what gifts to give to my nieces and nephews. And honestly, it’s not that easy. Some wanted toys or dolls, trendy clothes and stuff. But one of my nephews wanted something techie like an iPod. Imagine, an 8 years old boy already knows what an ipod is and not just an ipod he wanted the iPod Nano. Well since I’m not into that thing, I don’t have one actually, I searched the internet about this.

Good Thing I found an online shop that caters to my need and it also have different items that I can browse and be a gift idea. Using this online shop, I was able to browse stuff about iPod Nano. I was shock when I found out that there was so many kind of ipods now, depending on its price, storage capacity and even color. Well, since I’m on tight budget I decided to check out the 4GB Ipod. It looks ok to me.

Now I’m having second thoughts of giving this to my nephew because I also like to have one.

Best Exercise for You

I’m really having problem with losing weight especially now that its Christmas season. Just imagine all the sweet food you’ll have during parties, really can’t resist. Some of my friends suggested that I enroll in a gym so that I can lose the unwanted fats. Sound great but I don’t have extra budget for that. So I looked for alternative ways to stay healthy and sexy.

I found out that walking is the best exercise and can help lower your weight. It’s also less stressful to your knees than running. But the only problem is that I don’t have time to go walking because I go home late. And I‘d rather go home straight and watch TV than go walking alone.

So another friend suggested that I buy a Smooth 4.25 Treadmill. With this I can have my exercise while at home and watching TV at the same time. Really great idea, now my problem is solved. I can now be fit at all times.

Why I need Cables

I often thought of getting a directtv cable in my house in Cavite but was holding back because I don’t usually go home there during weekdays. I know that it’s going be a bit useless since no one will use it and an added cost for me.

But since my brother started working and stayed in my house during his 2 days off. He somewhat suggested in getting a directv cable. So that he could watch movies and not be limited to local channels. I know he’s bored whenever he’s there in Cavite and I know he wants to unwind.

So I said to my brother to look for Direct TV cable and ask for the price. And we will share for the payment. At least, on weekends I’ll be able to watch my favorite show on Lifestyle channel.

Electrical Helpers

I have a brother who lives abroad and owns a house there. Well, we all know that life there is not easy and everything is usually done by you especially fixing things in your house.

One time, my brother called up my dad and asks about electrical wirings. He was having somewhat problem in his house. Imagine spending an overseas call just for that, can’t blame my brother though because he doesn’t know a thing about electrical wirings. And besides, he doesn’t want to risk the safety of his home. So my dad suggested to hire a VA electrician, just to be sure that everything will go okay with fixing his wirings and also to have a thorough check of his house. While my dad is still on the phone with my dad, my brother is also searching the internet for reliable electrician…imagine multi-tasking.

Good thing my brother found this great website www.welsh-electrician.com where it provides services like electrical fixings and contracting. It’s really great to have company like this especially to people who doesn’t know electrical like my brother.

Now the problem is solved and my brother can now put his mind at rest thinking that his home is now safe. Same with us here, we won’t be worried anymore with their safety.

My New Gate...

Ola friendships…..

Last weekend, I finally decided to have my gate repainted. It’s almost 6 years since it was installed and rust is already appearing. My dad kept telling me not to prolong the repainting because it might get more rust and will cost more later. Even with a tight budget, I ask our good carpenterong manong to estimate the cost of materials and his labor. He said that it will take at least 2 days to finish the job. The total…for materials I spent Php 1,600 (paint, thinners & others) and for his labor Php 1,300 for two people for 2 days. Hmmm…the cost is already ok as what my father said….

So on with the painting….the color of my gate before was green. But this time, I wanted something bright so I choose red….lucky color for Chinese…Hope soooo….. ☺

I’m always hands on whenever someone does a work on my home, in short I sometimes get my hands dirty hehehehe…….

Now….I have a new, rust free and beautiful gate……..

Osteoporosis is a disease that weekens our bones that may lead to fractures. This is very common in women after menopause, but may also develop in men, and may occur in anyone in the presence of particular hormonal disorders and other chronic diseases.

The osteoporosis condition doesn't cause symptons unlesss a bone fracture is present. Some osteoporosis fractures may escape detection until years later. So people having this may not be aware until they suffer a painful fracture. Then the symptoms are related to the location of the fractures.

Osteoporosis can be prevented with lifestyle changes like exercise and sometimes medication like calcuim, vitamin D and others.

Searching for my Light

While I was doing my usual cleaning at home, I was planning to redecorate. So I started rearranging some of my stuff. I place my pc monitor near the stairs. Then I thought it would be quite dark there. So I thought why not put a lamp, then I started thinking what is the best kind and shape that would fit there. So I started browsing the net for lamps.
And behold there were so many kind of lamps and lamps shades.

There were floor lamps which of course is also nice since it would not take away some space in my desk. But I think this is not the right lamp for my desk. Now table lamps are also ok for me but I think this is also not the right one. I’m really having a bit problem thinking what is really right for my desk so I ask my friend for suggestion.

Then she suggested looking for desk lamps. She’s right a desk lamp is what I need, just right to light my desk while I’m working in my computer even if the main light is off. Well, that’s definitely what I’m going to buy now.

Having families abroad is not easy at all, especially if it’s your sister and brother. I really miss them both especially during family gatherings.

Now days, there a lot of ways to contact them like emails, chatting with web cam and sometimes voice chat. But all this cannot replace the joy it brings when you hear and talk to them without delay. Even if everyday I chat with my brother or sister, still they won’t miss calling us. And every time they call us, my mother would always tell them hurry up because it’s expensive. But they always tell us that using an international phone cards is cheaper and gives extra talk time.

Last Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, was the much awaited Pantene’s night at SM Hypermart Taste of Asia. It was a great party and true to their word……the special guests was really special.

Well…..let me tell you all the happenings…..
Cielo wasn’t able to join because it was her son’s birthday the next day, so being a great mom…..she passed this party just to be able to prepare for her son’s birthday bash….

I together with my office friends and brother arrived at the party around 8:30 pm. We were greeted by sexy Pantene girls as we registered. Mitch and Aerin was waiting for us, coz Cielo was able to talk to them and told them that I’m coming and wanted to meet them. We’ll it did happen, we finally and personally meet atlast and like old goody friends we clicked and immediately exchanged chicas….I finally met the great blogger’s Aerin and Mitch……and ofcoures able to finally talked to Aileen and thank her for giving great parties……. I was able to chat with Wenchie, Edz, Nicely and other bloggers…..it really made my night

While eating our dinner…of course as always…the food was really great, the special guest arrived. It was no other than Judy Ann Santos. Gosh she look great and slim too…wonder if it’s all the doing of fitrum…mmmm…. I wasn’t able to go have a picture with her….wanna know why????? Because I couldn’t leave my food….just look at this food…yummy right… I really wonder why every time I see an artista I’m eating which of course I’ll choose food than go have a picture hehehhee……

I think she just stayed for about 20mins. But the fun didn’t stop there, a great band was now playing and the singer was Arjay Jimenez, Pinoy Dream Academy scholar, and the songs was great. And this time, I was able to have my picture taken with him, same with my friends too.

Karen (my officemate) was able to have her hair shampooed and tried the new Pantene 3-Minute Miracle Treatment, which really look soft and shiny after…no kidding.

There was also the Kodak photo fab, where they’ll take your picture and print it as souvenir. They also gave out Pantene 3-Minute Miracle Treatment and printed handout, on how to use and have shiny hair, I’ll post the procedure next time…..

After Arjay’s Band finished their gig, a new band took over. This band was great too and funny at the same time, I just forgot their name…sorry….

We didn’t finish the party because it’s already 11:30pm and my brother need to be at work at 1:00am. In short, I need to drive him to office. But I didn’t left the party without saying goodbye to Mitch and Aerin, their really nice and great people…..I really like them and hope to see them again.

October is the Breast Cancer month........and lots of activities is already set like the Avon Breast Cancer Walk held in Sm Mall of Asia last two weeks ago.

And this time the ICanServe Foundation has lined up various activities for the whole month of October and everyone is invited to join.

One of this activity is the Pink Kitchen. This is a gathering for a good cause of various food expert from different cuisine that will showcase their specialties and tickle our taste buds. It will be held on October 18-19, 2008 at Rockwell tent. Entrance fee is set at Php 200 for adult and Php 100 for children below 12 years old.

Besides being a shoe lover, I’m beginning to love bags now a days especially if it somewhat matches my shoes. But finding the right design, color and texture of a bag is not that easy.

For me, a bag should be spacious to carry all the things I need depending on the occasion and of course it should be durable. Even if it the cost is above my budget but still meets my criteria, I’ll definitely buy it.

Before buying a bag, I usually browse the net for style. Then I came across this Rocawear site, which is known to carry urban fashion items, they carry beautiful designs of rocawear purse and bags

Phone Problems.....

My cousin texted me and ask my help in reporting their telephone to be having no dial tone. They already reported and followed up for a number of times now but still no maintenance crew came to fix it. And they even reported it to the office.

Just imagine having no phone for days and yet they bill you for the whole month. And sometimes, their customer service will just ask the problem, give you a report number and say to wait for the contractors to check.

I know that this telephone company caters to millions of subscribers but that doesn’t mean that they will let their client wait for weeks. They should immediately address the problem and give feedbacks to the customers.

I think it is much better for NTC to check this telephone companies if they are really giving their customer good service and meeting their timeline in doing repairs. Just like this Spectrotel long distance news , a local telephone service provider in Michigan wherein the MPSC (like NTC here) thoroughly check their procedures before giving the license to operate.

I know that it’s not only my cousin who experienced this kind of dilemma and I just wish they could immediately repair her phone as soon as possible.

My first Beauty Pageant….

Ola Friendshipss…..

When I was in Dau, Pampanga last weekend, October 4, my cousins took me to a beauty pageant in Mimosa Clark. It was the search for Binibining Mimosa 2008 and told me that a distant niece of mine joined the contest…..Day Anne Manarang. I haven’t met her yet…but I’m already proud of her for being in the contest…..and my hooorrayyyy shouts are definitely for her…..

A pre-pageant night was already held for the different categories last September 27 and tonight is the announcement of winners for minor titles, some major titles (like best swimsuit & best in evening gown) and the selection of top 5 with a question & answer portion. The selection of Top winners will be based on the answers of the candidate. I hope our bet will win…..

The pageant started around 9pm and as each candidate came out in their casual attire, crowds scream for their favorites……of course, I’m one of them screaming hehehehee. Swimsuit portion was ok…some having great bodies and others looking so thin…..as of starving themselves for this…..

Hmmmm…..this got me thinking….now I know why I didn’t join this kind of contest….I couldn’t force my self to starve hehehehehehe……and exxxxxccccuse meeee……masarap kayang kumain heheheheheeh…….naoobvious tuloy ako hehehehe….

Going back, my niece won the Best in Evening gown award and was chosen to be in the top 5. The question and answer portion was ok, each candidate gave a good answer.

Then….the tally was in and the envelope was ready to be opened…the crowd was anxious who would be crowned……….then it was announced……….4th, 3rd, 2nd…..then the last two candidates….. my niece, number 2 (yipppeee) and candidate number 7. Sorry I wasn’t able to get all their names…….

We need Change

My bestfriend Jean is a nurse working in a public hospital here in Manila and every time we see each other, she kept telling me how poorly public hospital are being manage. There is always long line in emergency areas, no enough rooms for patient and sometimes free medicines are not evenly distributed. And one more thing, low salary for nurses. That is why nurses prefer to work abroad than here, we can’t blame them right. This dilemma in public hospitals has been going for a long time now and much more worse in some provinces where nurses and medicine rarely reach them.

I wonder what the management of the hospitals is doing about these problems. If only they are like Daniel P Neumeister, who had help US hospital come up with plans and implementations in addressing this kind of problems.

I know it will take a long time to ease this problem but by slowing addressing this, is much better than doing nothing. And the people really need a good public hospital that could take care of them and their family.

I hope that our public hospital can compete with private hospital…..soon.

Beauty with a Cause

In one of the episode of “Proudly Filipina” which is hosted by Charlene Gonzales-Muhlach, one of their guests is singer-actress Agot Isidro.

She talked about her life being a singer, actress and a wife. How she started in showbiz as a back-up singer and joining a sitcom with Aga Muhlach. How she met her husband and how a trail in their married life made them closer to God and to each other, this trial is the risk of not having children.

Learning this, made her very depressed and scared that her marriage might experience problem, but her husband proved to her that his love will always be constant with or without kids. Despite what the doctors opinion, the couple still continue to pray for a miracle and devote their extra time in joining environmental groups like EcoQuest intl, which helps clean our environment.

I’m really inspired with Agot because even with a trial like this, still she continues to move on and never loses faith with God. And she is really blessed to have an understanding and loving husband.

Weekend at Dau, Pampanga

Ola Friendshipsss….

Well I really had a great weekend at Dau, Pampanga………

Together with my Aunty Bebeng and cousin Cris & family, we visited my other cousins and Lola there. The Manarang clan is from my mother’s side and being half-kapampangan…I already ready my self for an eating spree…heheehe.

We drove off Saturday morning around 9:30am and the travel to NLEX was a quick one, no traffic at EDSA. It’s my first time to drive far and at NLEX, being a bit nervous, I was really cautious…..but as time goes by I was getting the hang of it. The NLEX road was really ok and smooth, driving there was really ok. It took us about 1 ½ hour to get to DAU.

When we arrive at my Auntie Nelia’s house, everyone was already at buzz……. There was a wedding in the afternoon and some of my aunt’s is attending. The first thing we did when we arrived was to eat an early lunch. And honestly, when I’m there….I couldn’t stop eating…even if the food is only fried fish…it really makes you eat a lot….hmmmm….I wonder why???? And you’ll never go hungry there…….heheheehe

Ooohh before I forget… Auntie Nelia’s house is known to be as Bahay ng Bayan…this is where some of the family stays when they visit Dau. I really have great memories in that house since childhood and until now….

We had a mini cousins get together and being the eldest present, I was obliged to buy some meryenda for them…..the homemade palabok was very delicious. And ofcourse…picture taking was never missed…..we really had a great time that day…sharing funny childhood memories… this is really family moment for me….

Night time is another experience for me…….my cousins Jeffrey, Pogi and others took me to watch a beauty pageant… search for Miss Mimosa 2008. I will tell you all about this in another post…oki doki….

Sunday, was an outing day for us. We went to Clark to visit some park and to let the children play around. First stop was the El Kabayo Farm, we just took pictures with the horses coz honestly, it was very expensive to ride one…..imagine paying Php 650/hr gosh…….we can’t afford that…so we contented ourselves by taking pictures of the horse outside the fence…but mind you…they even charge Php 50 per person to have a picture with a horse….grrr…. good thing we finished taking pictures when they told us…..so we immediately left the place…with the pictures and without paying hehehehe….

Lastly, we went to the airforce park, where old planes were displayed…..there it was free to take pictures heheehe……

After this…we went back to my Aunt’s house for a mini salo-salo. I call it mini coz not everyone is present…wait till you see all my family…….it will be a BIG salo-salo and the food will definitely be plenty hehehehehe….

We went back to Manila around 3 pm and ofcourse we couldn’t leave Dau without its specialties like ebun buro (salted eggs), binuro (rice) and longaniza’s & tocino’s.

We really had a great weekend and honestly, I really am thankful that I was able to bond with my cousins……..

Looking forward to another bonding time with them………

In one of the Negosyo show in TV, I was able to watch how a messenger rose up to become one the owner of a leading cosmetic company in the Philippines. This company is no other than Ever Bilena Cosmetics.

I was really inspired by the owner’s story, he started as a messenger, with hard work, perseverance and dedication he was able to make this small business into a company worth millions. And when he started, he only has at least 10 people in his group, but now he employs thousand nationwide. He was really thankful for he was able to find good executives and employees that manage and work in the company.

This got me thinking, I know that managing a company is really a hard job and looking for executives to manage it is another thing. But there are already recruitment people like Dennis Carey, that helps company to find good and dependable executives. And we all know that success of the company depends with its executives and employees.

Ola Friendship!!!!!!!!

Well it’s a holiday to day!!!! And what better thing to do…….stay at home and watch movies…..lots of movies……. Hehehehe.

Just like what I’m doing right now…..while writing this post……..

Well this morning, my aunt texted me just to remind me about our weekend in Pampanga. We’re going there to attend a wedding of my distant cousin. And beside that, I’m the designated driver too….Haaayyy……..Ohhh well…what can I do…..atleast my other cousins suggested to ditch the wedding and go for fun…like airsoft…..hmmm….I’m thinking….

Well…its been a long time since I joined a game of airsoft. And to tell you, I was really hooked to this game. And I really spend money for the gears. I love the game…I don’t know why but every game that I played was really exciting and great. I really felt like one of the boys…hehehehe. I guess its in my nature that I immediately fell with this game…given that I grew up surrounded by man and my dad taught me some guys stuff…like letting me learn judo, target shooting and others…. But this doesn’t mean that I’m not feminine enough…I can be feminine as I can be.

I guess learning boys stuff have its advantages too…I learned to be strong and compose whenever I encounter challenges. And I’m really thankful to my dad for teaching me stuff that until now is very much useful in my life.

Going back to airsoft, I’m really excited to join my cousin on Saturday and I think we’re gonna play in Clark….

I’ll keep you guys posted…….

Today, I'mmm so happy and a bit shocked!!!

Well, I know you friendships are thinking why?????? Hmmmm.....well....let me tell you then...here goes....

My goody friendship...Cielo called me up around 9:30 pm.....and in her voice she was really excited and happy....She immediately informed me that our personal sites are now PR3... Brown Pinay and my site as well. I couldn't believe it really.....coz for one thing.....my site is just new and honestly, I know it will take long time to reach that PR... Well...she immediately advise me to visit PRChecker site and see it for my self. Which ofcourse I did.......and guess what!!!!

A Great Day

Well…..my day is officially over……and I’m happy to say that it’s a well spent day.

I decided not to go to office…so this means I woke up late yesterday morning…..

Gooosssshhh…. can’t believe that my day is considered yesterday already…hmmm..its already September 23…..oh well….time really flies….

So I spent my day with the people I care and honestly……I’m very happy on this day. Many of my family & friends greeted me…even the people that I didn’t think to care for me, greeted me which means only one thing…...I’m unforgettable hehehehe

I had dinner with my Lola, Auntie, brother and cousins. And even if my parents are far, still they sent me their love thru a phone call. It was a good and enjoyable dinner.

After this, my bestfriend Jean, invited me to a night out. So we hang-out at Metrowalk and it was really enjoyable. It’s already a bit long time since the two of us went out. We have so many catching up to do and honestly, the night is not enough for our chikahan…

I’m really so thankful for my day is really great…..

Now I’m ready to face another year in my life….and I hope this time…..something new will happen….

Its official….I’m now 31…..hmmm….even if I don’t want to get old……who can stop it….Well, all I have to do is accept it and just think of it as another year old wiser….

Well…thinking of my life for the past 30 years isn’t easy….I’ve had my share of ups and downs in life, stories of kilig loves hehehehe, achievements, and lot a more experience… I could never be where I am right now if not for the people I love……

1 day before my Day

It’s 1 day before my birthday…………and honestly, I still don’t know what to do on that day. I filled for a birthday leave but still thinking if I’m gonna use it or not.

If I’m gonna use it….I’ll be staying at home with coco and doing nothing…oh by the way…coco is my best doggie pal heheeh…..kala nyo boylet noh hehehehe….and oohhh…another thing I’m kinda broke so that means purely staying home…no gimik. Hmmm…..

If I’m not gonna use it…..I’ll wake up early tomorrow and go to work….of course everyone will start greeting me…and that will make happy…..and then they will start to tease me to treat them….which of course would make me feel a bit sad coz I’m kinda broke nga….hmmm…

Well…..I still have lots of hour to think it over……to work or not to work…that is the question hehehehehe……..

Putting this aside, I did do some things before my birthday…….

Like last Tuesday, I went to Baclaran with a friend, to pray and light a candle. The Baclaran church is really in my heart. Coz this is the place I went when I was having problem before….and honestly, everything went well.

Also last Friday, I decided to go to Manaog to attend a mass and light a candle for my wish. The Manaog church is also in my heart coz I also went here when I was having problem…..This is my way of thanking God for all the blessing that I received. …its like continuing the thing I did just before my birthday last year. But since its going to be just a round trip and the Dagupan bus leaves manila at 11:30pm, I decided to hang out in Power Books, Megamall, to read and kill the time. I found a good book and a nice place to read….I wanted to take a picture of the cozy place I stayed but it was not allowed their… It was almost time t o go to the bus station but still haven’t finish reading the book….So I made a decision to buy the book as a gift to my self…..of course since this is not in my budget I charged it to my extension card hehehehe….

I arrived in the station just in time for the last bus to Manaog, Pangasinan. The travel was smooth and safe. I arrived 4:45 am, Saturday. I was able to attend the first mass at 5:00am and lighted a candle. After the mass, I took my breakfast at Chowking and rode a bus back to Manila.

I was really happy that I was able to go to Baclaran and Manaog. And honestly this place gave me peace in my heart. Even tough I’m not of the same faith, I still believe in this place. And will continue to go there….

Well…until now…..I’m still thinking whether to go to office or just stay in bed the whole day of my birthday….hmmmmm…..

Wedding Bliss.....

Ola Friendship.....

Last Saturday, September 13, 2008 was the wedding of my goodie friend Sheryl Torres to Demic Pabalan....

It was a morning wedding and despite the rain, it was a pretty and solemn rite. The bride, ofcourse, was very lovely and as most bride on her wedding day is really radiant. The ceremony was brief coz it was a Christian wedding which lasted for about an hour. The reception was held at Oasis, Quezon City. The place was lovely like a garden type but it was held at the open pavilion. The food was delicious which was catered by Hizon.

Gosh....whenever I attend a wedding it really makes me mushy inside...but at the same time ...romantic....It makes me day dream....how my life would be with the person that is truly given by God. Even having frustrated loves...it still doesn't keep me from wishing for a true love.......I just pray that God have cooked up someone for me to spend the rest of my life with...... Like my goodie Sheryll, she already found that person. And I was one of the witness in her wedding.

OOOhhhh well......since that person is still missing.....what to do with my life while waiting...Enjoy it and be bubbly!!!!!

Ghost Whisperer – TV Series

Ola Friendships!!!!!!

The moment I watched Ghost Whisperer, I immediately become hooked with this series. I love this kind of series with format of supernatural, fantasy, thriller and a bit of drama who wouldn’t be hooked. Since I wasn’t able to watch it from the start of its season, I googled it in the net if how many seasons it has….. I found out that Ghost Whisperer started way back September 2005 and up to now it has completed 3 seasons. Well since season 4 hasn’t started yet, I decided to look for a DVD with its complete released season (season 1, 2 & 3)….

Yippeeeee……found a store that sells the DVD…so I immediately bought it. But before starting the Ghost whisperer marathon last weekend, I made sure that all my house choirs are finished, so that means my marathon started late in the afternoon…..and hehehe stop watching it at 3 am Sunday morning... if my eyes wasn’t tired enough….I would still continue watching ☺

Ohhh…..I almost forgot……..the story of Ghost Whisperer revolves around Melinda Gordon (played by Jennifer Love Hewitt) who lives in a small town called Grandview. She has the ability to see and communicate with dead people. In her own way, she helps this souls cross over or go into the light. Each episode is very much interesting and sometimes thrilling. And this series has many nominations and even won several Emmy awards including Best TV Actress (Jennifer Love Hewitt). It’s was another lunch out for our group. This time our boss was generous enough and chose Buma Seafood Restaurant as the place to be…..

It’s my first and also to some of my officemate to dine at Buma Seafood Restaurant. And what do first timers do (like me and Cielo) ……ogle the place and scan the menu. Oh…I almost forgot….take pictures….. ☺

Buma Seafood Restaurant is located at Tiendesitas, C5 Pasig. They are open at 11:00 am till night time.

I give them the rating of satisfied. They don’t use much decoration on the food but still makes it appealing to the eyes

I give them satisfied rating. Before they will cook your food, they will ask you if your prefer it to be seasoned with msg or not. So we choose no msg….and still yummy!

I give them average rating. Hmmm….They are not expensive but not cheap in price. You can order thru their menu or you can ask for the group meals. Group meals range from Php 2000 up (depending on the variety of food) per 10 persons.

Ambience
I give them Very Satisfied rating. I love their place inside and out. It’s like a garden café outside with native like chairs and table. Once you get inside, you will immediately notice a portion on floor with a glass covering. Inside this glass is a two large preserved lobster and a shell. It’s more like a native style ambience.

Service
I give them the average rating. Their stuff is ok and accommodating.

Restrooms
I give them the Very Satisfied rating. They have a separate CR for men & women. And as what I have seen in the women cr, it’s very clean and smells good. I also ask my guy officemate about their cr and he said it’s also clean.

Parking
I give them Satisfied rating. It’s a paid parking since it’s inside the Tiendesitas and lots space. If ever they run out of slots, you could always park at SM Hypermart since it’s just infront.

We really enjoyed our food trip here….hmmm….hope next my boss will choose another exciting place to dine……..
